Theology of Worship

We in Thrissur Diocese bring in the Acolytes of the Churches in the diocese twice a year for refreshing their memory on how an Acolytes should do his duties in the Church. No one is allowed to be in the Altar if he does not attend at least one meeting in a year. We also have regular examinations conducted to refresh the memory of things in the Acolytes Handbook published by the diocese (this was recommended by the Holy Episcopal Synod for use in all dioceses and was distributed among Their Graces the Metropolitans.  Delhi diocese has reprinted it for to be used by their Acolytes).

This video is made of my circular Kalapan made to audio wishing my parishes and congregations a Blessed Nativity and a Promising New Year 2017

This video contains my talk at the training of the Acolytes of Thrissur diocese conducted on August 24th 2016 at Unity Chapel of Orthodox Bishop's House Mannuthy. There are four points in the talk. One, one of the good things about the Western culture is that they have a systematic way of doing things. We need to learn that cultural element in every thing we do in our life and particularly in worship. There is nothing in worship that it can be done this way or that way, only the proper organized way.

I have uploaded to my YouTube channel a video with pictures and audio of the second part of a one day training program for Acolytes of Thrissur Diocese. This part talks about the basic conditions for an Orthodox Worship

Vattully (near Chelakkara. in Thrissur district in Thrissur diocese) St. George Orthodox Chuch has been closed down without worship for four decades. We engaged in talks with the Jacobite Church parish leaders and decided to settle the matter through negotiations. We got the Church as part of the deal. The first ever service in the Church was held on February 14th 2015 and that was the first time a bishop was conducting Holy Qurbana in that Church after 45 years. It was a memoral day for all of us.
