My Life

I made a video remembering H.H. Baselius Marthoma Didymus I of blessed memory for my people in one of the units in STOC

His Holiness Baselius Marthoma Didymus I has entered eternal rest at 7.35 pm on May 26th 2014. He loved  and cared for me so much. When H. H. Baselius Marthoma Mathews II bava thirumeni decided to resign, called H.H.and said that it was H.H. turn to take the throne of St. Thomas, H.H. in turn at 11 in the night called me up and said, "aboone I need a unique name., there are too many Thomas in the sky". I told H.H. "we will find one thirumeni" The name I suggested 'Dydimus' became H.H's official name. H.H. asked me to assist H.H. in Angamali diocese which I did for eight months.

Go Now In Peace Holy Father

Anniversary day of Prerana School for Special Students was conducted at the St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary Auditorium on March 6th 2014. This school is run by a society promoted by the Seminary. There are about sixty students from local area study here. The local MLA  Mr. Sunil was the chief guest. H.G. Dr. Mathews Mar Severius and myself were there to felicitate. The Canara Bank gave away scholarships to students. Several other local educational and business institutions help them run the school and the representatives of the same were there at the function to felicitate.

I am glad to say that I had Cheera kari as side dish for my lunch today. I myself with my own hand grew that cheera in my garden. After all my father was a farmer (cf. Duet.26:5). These pictures are before they were cut. Thanks to Paul and his wife Annie who gave me the seeds when I visited them in October last at their place in San Francisco.

A dinner was hosted by H. H. Catholica Bava Thirumeni for the Oriental Orthodox and Catholic Church dignitaries who are in Kerala for a routine dialogue between Oriental Orthodox and Catholic Churches. All the bishops of the Church was invited and I was also there. The dinner was at Madappattu resort, Thodupuzha. The dialogue is being conducted at Samanwaya Study and Dialogue Centre of Kandanadu East Diocese.

I gave four lectures for various levels of students at the University of Central Florida (UCF) on Ancient History of Syria. The first one was for freshmen which was for an hour on Nov. 6th 2013. The other three were on Thursday Nov. 7th 2013. Rev. Fr. Alexander Kurian, director department of strategic planning for the United States government, and me shared these three sessions. Credit goes to Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Mathew Ph.D (Visiting lecturer, Department of Philosophy and Religion, UCF, also the vicar of St. Paul's Orthodox Church, Orlando).

We were staying at Sophia Center, guest house of Orthodox Theological seminary, during the days of the Holy Episcopal Synod from Aug. 5 till 10. The continuous rain brought water in to the dams and they had to open it. It flooded the Meenachil River on the bank of which the O T Seminary is. We could not take our cars out as the road leading to Chungam was full of knee deep water. So we had to commute on a bus.

I spent a whole day in Manhattan walking along Broadway and visiting the second World War ship Intrepid

which also houses space shuttle Enterprise (Courtesy Abraham Family of NY).
